Rogue Space Systems Corporation has been awarded a $1.25 million contract by SpaceWERX, the innovation arm of the U.S. Space Force, to advance its E-Bus technology suite. This funding is earmarked for the development of a cutting-edge power distribution and networking module aimed at enhancing the adaptability of spacecraft to various mission requirements. The E-Bus technology stands out as a low-size, weight, and power (low-SWaP) solution that doubles as both a power distribution module and a networking switch, featuring software-configurable data and power ports for versatile payload and subsystem integration.

The scalability of the E-Bus system is a game-changer, with a single device capable of supporting multiple payloads and the technology expandable through interconnected devices. This design facilitates dynamic network interconnection, offering straightforward fail-over and reconfiguration capabilities during orbital operations. Michael Pica, Rogue's Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, highlighted the technology's potential to reduce costly hardware non-recurring engineering (NRE) expenses, paving the way for a data infrastructure that supports dynamically configurable spacecraft at a lower cost.

Jon Beam, Rogue's Chief Executive Officer, drew parallels between the anticipated impact of this technology on space commerce and the transformative effect e-commerce had two decades ago.
