Advanced Glazings, Inc. has introduced Solera GR, a novel glazing solution aimed at mitigating glare and thermal discomfort in existing buildings. This product stands out by allowing installation directly onto the interior of existing insulated glass units, eliminating the necessity to remove the original glass. This feature presents architects and facility managers with a viable retrofit option that promises both convenience and efficiency.

Solera GR, which stands for Solera Glare Repair, offers a significant departure from conventional window films and blinds. Its single-pane glass attachment ensures sunlight is dispersed more evenly, thereby reducing the reliance on manual blind adjustments. This innovation not only preserves natural daylight but also enhances indoor comfort, marking a leap forward in building design and functionality.

The product boasts several advantages, including an improvement in glazing thermal performance by approximately R1 insulation. With pricing set between $22 and $26 per square foot, Solera GR is positioned competitively against traditional window treatments. In a strategic move to expand its U.S. presence, Advanced Glazings has inaugurated a new facility in Wilmington, North Carolina.
