The International Whisky Competition Committee has awarded Kavalan Distillery's Kavalan Solist Fino Sherry Single Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky the prestigious title of Whisky of the Year at its 16th edition in Louisville, Kentucky. With a remarkable score of 97.04 points, this Taiwanese whisky not only clinched the top honor but also marked a historic moment as the first non-Scottish distillery to achieve such recognition. This achievement underscores the growing diversity and quality in the global whisky industry.

Mr. Yu-Ting Lee, Chairman of King Car Kavalan, shared his pride in this accomplishment, emphasizing how it reinforces Taiwan's emerging prominence in the whisky sector. Max A. Solano, the competition's director, lauded the Kavalan Solist Fino Sherry for its outstanding balance and complexity, qualities that set it apart from its competitors. Adam Edmonsond, Master of Whisky, provided tasting notes that highlighted the whisky's rich and intricate profile, featuring tropical fruits, nuts, and sherry influences, all leading to a prolonged and gratifying finish.
