Good Bull Investments, a private equity and real estate investment firm, has recently acquired the historic Commodore on the Beach hotel from JMK5 Holdings, marking its first foray into the hospitality industry. The hotel, located at 3618 Seawall Blvd. in Galveston, is a 92-room mid-century property that Good Bull Investments plans to renovate and reopen by Mardi Gras 2026. This acquisition represents a significant step for Good Bull Investments as it diversifies its portfolio beyond private equity and real estate into the hospitality sector.

The sale of the Commodore Hotel aligns with JMK5 Holdings' strategic pivot towards marquee redevelopment projects. Jerome Karam, the developer behind JMK5 Holdings, has shifted focus to transformative projects such as converting the former Gulf Greyhound Park into a concert venue and revitalizing properties on Westheimer in Houston. The transaction with Good Bull Investments also included the sale of a commercial shopping center in Friendswood and a cruise ship parking property in Galveston, further consolidating Good Bull Investments' presence in the region.
