Firestorm Labs Secures $47 Million in Series A Funding to Advance Drone Technology for Modern Warfare

Firestorm Labs, a San Diego-based company at the forefront of developing advanced drones for warfare, has successfully closed a $47 million Series A funding round. This significant investment, led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) with contributions from defense-focused venture firms including Lockheed Martin Ventures, Decisive Point, Washington Harbour Partners, and Booz Allen Ventures, alongside $12 million in venture debt from JPMorgan, marks a pivotal moment in the advancement of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology.

The funding will enable Firestorm Labs to scale its xCell platform, a revolutionary system that allows combat teams to build and repair drones directly on the battlefield. The xCell platform's modular airframe facilitates the on-site production of the Tempest UAS, designed for a variety of missions such as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), electronic warfare, and strike missions. This technology not only enhances military operations by keeping troops safer but also ensures the U.S. maintains its leadership in unmanned systems technology.
