Gilat Secures $25 Million Contract to Modernize Broadband Network in Peru's Cusco Region

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. has secured an additional $25 million agreement with Peru's national telecommunications program Pronatel to modernize the Regional Broadband network in the Cusco region. The project, to be completed over the next 12 months, will deliver services for five years and represents a significant expansion of digital infrastructure in one of Peru's most important regions.

The upgraded network will provide high-speed internet of 200 Mbps to nearly 208 public institutions including schools, health centers, and police stations, along with 69 public free WiFi hotspots. This initiative addresses critical connectivity gaps in rural and remote areas, enabling improved access to education through digital learning resources, enhanced healthcare services through telemedicine capabilities, and strengthened public safety through better communication infrastructure.
